List of good Restaurants in Bali

Over the past decade, Seminyak has developed a world-class dining scene. If you want to splurge on one very special dinner while you are in Bali, look no further than the higher and option in Seminyak. Price are high by Bali standards but on an international scale still good value for the highest quality of food and dining environment.

The clientele is demanding here and the turnover of restaurant quite high, so those that make it and stick around are invariably very good. Remember you are just as likely to make a great discovery by not following all your tourist mates’ recommendations.
The island has at least 3000 good to excellent restaurant so don’t get lulled into thinking that the dozen or so on everyone’s lips are essential dining.

Finally–establishments in Bali have great momentum. They move fast and fade fast. We find ourselves there 2 or 3 time every year for both business and pleasure and it is amazing how new place sprout and favorites wither. Likewise menus are changed and wine vanishes. So if any of the recommendations we have listed here are either closed or not up to expectations we apologize in advance and ask that you let us know so we can update this information.

Indonesian food is typically eaten family style, and we encourage this convivial tradition at Merah Putih. Plates are set in the middle of the table, meaning everyone in your group has the opportunity to sample a range of dishes; they can enjoy the classics and also discover something new. The main dining area seats 110 people comfortably across the main floor and another 24-30 in three teak pods on a mezzanine. The menu is separated into two sections, each presenting an opportunity to discover a different kind of Indonesian cuisine. In the ’traditional’ section, unpretentious, simple cooking procedures highlight the refined balance of regional dishes using specially selected tender meats, locally sourced produce and the very best aromatic spices.

Prepare to be wowed by this stunning and elegant addition to Bali’s fine-dining scene. Strikingly housed in a sprawling bamboo structure overlooking rice paddies, Sardines is equally inviting for a drink or a meal. A comfortable lounge area sits next to a pond, home to a school of very rare white koi carp the chef assures us they will not end up on your table. The menu is made of predominately fish and organic greens. The owners have taken a tip from the locals and serve surprisingly delicious arak cocktails –no mean feat. Sardines of course are the house specialty on the daily changing menu. Serving mainly local seafood, Sardine sources vegetables from its own organic garden. More than half the restaurant is dedicated to a working paddy field, which means diners have great views of a rice field.
